Lending a hand from one Freeport community to another Freeport community was the goal of students from Freeport, Maine. Students collected items for students, teachers and classrooms in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy and presented them to Giblyn. In return, Giblyn showed their thanks and appreciation by the fourth grade chorus performing “Share Your Goodwill,” under the direction of Shannon Abramovitz, to students and teachers visiting from Freeport, Maine. Students also created artistic thank you cards from each grade level that were signed by the entire student body, which was led by Juliette Mason, art teacher.“How this community reached out to our school was truly thoughtful and meant the world to us,” says Amanda Muldowney, principal. “For high school students to make a connection based on the name of our town alone and spearhead fundraisers to help our students return to normalcy will not be forgotten.”
